Unemployment rate
The New York State Department of Labor reported the unemployment rate in the Elmira area at 5.1% for April. The rate is down from April 2005, which stood at 5.4%. Is it getting easier to find a job in the Southern Tier?

If you want a minimum wage job, it is very easy. If you want a meaningful career, look elsewhere.
