Dr. Bryant stated on the news that he would move special education services, and that it would not impact children. Our children in need of special education services considered any less of a child than any other child. I have an issue with moving special education classrooms, because they do get moved often. Children that receive special education services do not typically adapt well to change. They are usually children that have a need for consistency and routine. They are children first, and should not be considered anything less. There needed to be a change at Hendy, but there is usually only 12 or 8 children in a special education classroom. How does that make a significant difference in the overcrowding at Hendy, and how many rooms is he talking about moving? Have we gone back in time when every minority had to fight for some kind of rights to be equal?
