The Will Rogers Follies: A Life In Review
Campbell–Savona Central School presents “The Will Rogers Follies: A Life In Review!”
Will Rogers was a unique American who, though he died almost sixty
years ago, remains a beloved figure remembered for his humor, his
wisdom, and his just plain common sense. Claiming to have never met a
man he didn’t like, Rogers was America’s first international multimedia
sensation, whose wit and homespun wisdom went straight to the nation’s
heart. The character of Will Rogers (portrayed by Jared Allen) narrates
his life story through a series of spectacular Ziegfeld Follies
production numbers which come to life with Ziegfeld Girls, Ziegfeld’s
Favorite, wranglers, and cowgirls. After marriage, kids, fame and even
a run for the presidency, Will’s life ends with fateful plane ride he
takes with his friend, Wiley Post. Rogers became the biggest, most
popular, and highest paid star of every existing medium of his time -
stage, screen, radio, newspapers, and public appearances.
“The Will Rogers Follies: A Life In Review” is a journey, reviewing
Will's life and adventures through singing, dancing, roping and pure
humor. Each unforgettable scene, song and dance, will keep your mouth
smiling, your hands clapping and your toes tapping.
